Grit tanks and bar screen are the initial steps of the treatment process. Other waste and garbage are taken away by the bar screen. To allow soil, pebbles and other debris to rest in the tank’s bottom, the waste water can be able to flow through the grit tanks.

It is that the sludge or scum are eliminated. Once the water that is contaminated has been gone, it travels to be aerated numerous times prior to being returned back to water sources. To make sure that the treatment process isn’t back-up, the tank has to be filled with sludge and scum.
