Petroleum is the product that creates plastic. The oil is extracted from the earth using a pump. Following the extraction of crude oil, the crude goes to the refinery facility where chemicals are transformed to meet different needs. Some of the crude oil can be made into petrol, asphalt or naphtha.

Naphtha is then sent to a cracking centre to refine it further. The heating and breaking down of the naphtha is then completed. It is used as an ingredient primary in plastic manufacturing.

The ethylene gets compressed, cools before it is sent into a chamber for reaction. The reaction chamber is where intiatives are added and polymerization occurs. The ethylene will then be converted into polyethylene. The polyethylene is formed into pellets and strings, which are utilized to create the plastic products we use every all day.
